The handbook contains articles defining the purpose of the Society, rules and regulations governing the unit, by-laws of the Society, and the authenticity guidelines which set the parameters of our impressions of the soldier of the American Civil War.

Hardee's School of the Soldier The North Carolina Drill Manual (1862) incorporates General William Hardee's "School of the Soldier", defining the basics for drill and deportment for soldiers on both sides. Simplified and updated from Scott's and Casey's more arcane and (some say) convoluted manuals, Hardee's presents the basics for the citizen soldier.
